GUNMEN suspected to be Fulani herdsmen had stormed two villages in Bukkuyum and Zurmi Local government Area of Zamfara State killing a village head and abducting 12 married women.
Findings by Saturday Tribune revealed that the two separate attacks came within 24 hours interval when the gunmen attacked Kima village in Zurmi Local government Area on Wednesday and Adabka village of Bukkuyum Local government area on Thursday.
Speaking in an interview on Friday, the Emir of Bukkuyum, Alhaji Muhammed Usman, lamented that the hoodlums stormed the village of Adabka in the early hours of Thursday, and carted away hundreds of cows and also killed the village head in the area.
According to Usman, the security operatives as well as the state governor were immediately informed of the incident.
He, therefore, appealed to the state and federal government to come to their rescue following the menace of the banditry in the area.
Confirming the incidents, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communications, Sani Abdullahi Tsafe described the two incidents as unfortunate, saying that the state government was doing its best to protect the lives of its people.
