Boko Haram kills more than 100, hoists flag in Borno

Boko Haram extremists have killed more than 100 people and hoisted their black and white flag over a town left undefended by the military, just 85 kilometers (53 miles) from Maiduguri, a civil defense spokesman and a human rights advocate said Saturday.

Hundreds of villagers in another northeast area, Askira Uba, are fleeing after receiving letters from the Islamic extremists threatening to attack and take over their areas, spokesman Abbas Gava of the Nigerian Vigilante Group said.

Dad Beats Man Caught R*Ping Son, Calls Ambulance To Rescue Him

A man who caught a man r*ping his son, 11, beat him up then called an ambulance to come and collect him from a “bloody puddle.”

The Daytona-Beach News-Journal reports that the man, 35, who has not been identified, said he walked in while Raymond Frolander, 18, was allegedly abusing his son.The Florida man then called 911 to come and collect him.

“I got him in a bloody puddle for you officer,” he told the operator. “Send an ambulance. He is going to need one.”

The man was asked if he used any weapons to which he replied, “my foot and my fist.”
Forlander’s mug shot shows him with several cuts, bruises and swelling to his face.

He has been charged with s*xual battery on a minor. It is alleged that he had been abusing the boy for three years.

Janet, who got married to the billionaire Wissam Al Mana at a private ceremony in 2012, had announced her eagerness to leave the limelight and live a private life with her husband.  She is less a social media person now and last tweeted on June 9.

Boko Haram, product of power-seeking politicians, says ex-presidential candidate

PRESIDENTIAL candidate of the African Liberation Party, ALP, in the 2011 general elections, Chief Emmanuel Okereke,has attributed Boko Haram insurgency in the country to the handiwork of politicians desperately seeking to rule the country.

Okereke said the insurgency was created by the politicians to intimidate President Goodluck Jonathan from seeking a second term in office.

He also said the abduction of the over 200 school girls in Chibok,Borno State was masterminded by the politicians to discredit Jonathan’s administration, so that he can lost support locally and internationally in his re-election bid.

The politician, who is also the Director-General of Taskforce on Illegal Importation of Small Arms and Light Weapons, said these yesterday, in Abuja,while addressing a group under the aegis of Southern Youths For Peace Initiatives, which had bestowed an Award of Excellence on him.

Ronaldo’s Mother: I Almost Aborted Madrid Star!

The mother of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, Dolores Aveiro, has admitted that she attempted to have an abortion whilst pregnant with her son, according to the Irish Independent.

The revelation came after she published a book entitled Mother Courage which was released in Portugal on Friday.

And she has revealed that she took a homemade recipe in a bid to rid herself of the infant after a doctor refused to help her terminate the pregnancy.

“I wanted to abort but the doctor didn’t support my decision, she admits in the book.

She went on to explain she drank warm ale and “ran till she dropped” without achieving her aim.

Ronaldo himself was absent from the unveiling, but she admitted that her son is well aware of what she tried to do.

“He told me when he found out, ‘Look mum, you wanted to abort and now I’m the one who’s pulling the purse-strings in the house.”

At least he seems to be taking it in good spirits then! She has a point, though, she’s got it pretty sweet now and it is all thanks to her son.

6 killed in Osun bank robbery

Armed robbers on Thursday evening killed at least six persons in a bank robbery in Modakeke, headquarters of Ife East Area office of Osun State.

Police Public Relations Officer for the state Police Command, Mrs. Folashade Odoro confirmed that six persons, who were customers of the Wema Bank, were shot dead by the armed robbers during the robbery operation.

A resident of the town told our correspondent that lifeless bodies of the deceased were taken to the palace of the tradition ruler of the town, Oba Francis Adedoyin as the town was soaked with tension over the incident.

None of the armed robbers was arrested as they all escaped despite the timely arrival of police at the bank.

The PPRO stated that the police chased the armed robbers to the outskirts of the town before they escaped, saying: “Men of the Nigeria Police Force are still in search of the robbers.”
