The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have said that 15 people have died in Tuesday's tanker fire.
NEMA spokesman Ibrahim Farinloye told AFP that nine people were proclaimed dead at the scene of the accident and that rescue workers later recovered six more bodies.
According to the report four houses, four buses and more than 60 shops were destroyed by the fire.
Some eyewitnesses told NAN that the tanker which caused the fire had a problem with its brakes.
