President Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly requested the resignation of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
According to ThisDay, Jonathan's request follows the leaking of a letter Sanusi wrote to him about the $49.8 billion oil fraud scheme.
ThisDay reports that Jonathan accused Sanusi of leaking the letter to former president Olusegun Obasanjo to create political turmoil and damage his chances of being re-elected in 2015.
Daily Post reports that Sanusi has said that he will not resign and can only be removed from his post by a two-third vote by the Senate.
