Three policemen have died and a few people were injured after gunmen attempted to kidnap the Kano State governor's father.
Channels reports that gunmen attempted to kidnap Alhaji Musa Kwankwaso, father of Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at about 20:00 on Tuesday while he was leaving a mosque in Kwankwaso village.
According to AllAfrica.com, members of the Kano State Police Command who were guarding the governor's home managed to stop the attackers.
The incident has not been officially confirmed.
